Painting from a Photo

Painting from a Photos is what a lot of artists do, they love a scene they've taken a picture of in the landscape or want to copy something they really like, it's one way of creating a painting.. When I'm teaching I usually try and encourage students to put their own spin on it and make it their own. However, if you, like I have been asked to do, need to copy a favourite photo as a commission, it needs to be an accurate interpretation, this little video will show you the progress I used for building this painting.

It's a present for a friend of mines husband of his dog on the Island they go yo in the summer in Finland. I really enjoyed the challenge, hope you enjoy!
